Welcome to Needham Market Country Practice
With patients' needs at the heart of everything we do, our website has been designed to make it easy for you to gain instant access to the information you need. As well as specific practice details such as opening hours and how to register, you’ll find a wealth of useful pages covering a wide range of health issues along with links to other relevant medical organisations.
Get Well, Keep Well
Of course we’re not just here for when you are unwell. Our team of healthcare professionals and back-up staff offer a number of clinics and services to promote good health and wellbeing whatever your medical condition.
We hope you enjoy having a look around the site and familiarising yourself with some of the online features such as ordering a repeat prescription. Whatever your thoughts, be sure to let us know via our feedback function. Comments and suggestions are always a great way of helping us continue to enhance the way we look after you.
Our surgery is completely accessible and has facilities for the disabled.
Dr Campbell Retirement
As some of you already know, I will be retiring at the end of April. It will be sad to leave a job I have loved and sad to leave so many people I have cared for over the past 12 years, but I am looking forward to spending more time with my family. It has been a great privilege to work for you as a GP.
We hope to have a replacement soon and so there should be no need for anyone to transfer to another GP in the practice.
I will still be living in Needham and will look forward to seeing many of you around the town.
My best wishes to everyone.
Dr David Campbell
Welcome Dr Phelan
We would all like to welcome Dr Alison Phelan to Needham Market Country Practice. She will be working Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. Dr Phelan has recently joined us from a practice in Ireland and has moved to the area with her husband. She has a lot of experience in paediatrics and is a fantastic asset to the team.
Care Quality Commission
Our practice has recently been reviewed by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) (https://www.cqc.org.uk/), the independent regulator of health and social care in England. One of their core aims is to ensure GPs provide effective, caring and responsive services and to identify and encourage improvements.
We are pleased to announce that we have been given good ratings for delivering on our patient’s needs and ensure their care is assessed, tailored and delivered according to best practice guidelines. We’re proud to be recognised for our caring, compassionate and effective approach, as well as for proactively seeking feedback from patients to continually improve.
All of our patients who gave independent feedback to the CQC were positive about our practice, specifically praising the confidence they have in our supportive, convenient, professional and effective service. The CQC viewed our free dispensary delivery service as an example of outstanding practice.
As with many organisations there is always room for improvement and the CQC have highlighted some non-clinical areas that we need to focus on. We want to reassure our patients that we are working very hard to address these issues and remain committed to providing a safe, caring and effective service.
